About Dr Daniel Anderson
Dr Daniel Anderson is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist based in Manchester, specialising in the management of psychiatric diagnoses in adults and older adults. He is dually trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist and group analyst, allowing him to provide bespoke clinical formulations beyond standard diagnoses. Dr Anderson has a particular interest in issues related to sexuality, gender, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, and neuropsychiatric disorders such as dementia and brain injury.
Dr Anderson earned his primary medical qualification from the University of Aberdeen and later completed a Master's degree in Psychoanalytic Studies. He furthered his training in psychiatry in the UK and pursued a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Cultural Studies, focusing on analytic approaches to sexuality and gender. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Anglia Ruskin University.
Appointed as a Consultant at the Christie NHS Trust, Dr Anderson has extensive experience in the psychiatric management of cancer, dementia, and old age. He also serves as the Medical Director for an independent hospital, which has received high ratings from the Care Quality Commission. Dr Anderson is actively involved in medical education and research at the University of Manchester.
