Dr Shobhit Baijal is a dedicated Consultant Oncologist based at The Heart of England NHS Foundation trust.

He studied Medicine in London. He obtained a BSc Honours in Immunology and Cell Pathology from University College London before graduating with his Medical degree from St Bartholomew’s Medical School in 2001.

Dr Baijal returned to the Midlands to complete his General Medical and Oncology training. He took up post as Consultant Oncologist in September 2011. He actively cares for and treats cancer patients across the 3 hospital sites (Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital) of this large Foundation Teaching Trust.

He is a Principle Investigator in National and International clinical trials and leads the Acute Oncology Service at Good Hope Hospital.

Dr Baijal is also extremely passionate about Cancer Survivorship and has developed and led on the Health and Wellbeing clinics at The Heart of England NHS Trust. Being a keen sportsman he has a specialist interest in the benefits of exercise for cancer patients and survivors. He has a Level 4 Qualification in Cancer Rehabilitation. He has brought together a team of specialists at Spire Little Aston and Spire Parkway Hospitals who are able to deliver individual exercise programmes for cancer patients, regardless of their diagnosis and treatment status.

Dr Baijal’s aim is to deliver cutting edge and evidence based cancer treatments for his patients whilst ensuring their health and wellbeing is also prioritised.
